June 2010:

I am now marking in the Writing Children's Stories Course for TAFE Queensland's Adult & Community Education (ACE) section. This course is aimed at writers who are just beginning to write. I provide very detailed, constructive feedback to students aimed to help them move towards publication. Further information about this course can be found at:

New Year 2010 heralded another important milestone for me - my 250th wedding. On the 2nd of January 2010, in the beautiful Berrinba Wetlands environmental park in Logan City, my clients Tricia and Tau joined together in marriage before a very large gathering of family and friends.

The ceremony was conducted up on the balcony of the environmental centre, with the guests stationed on the green below. In a carefully choreographed processional, Tricia's bridesmaids made a spectacular entrance down the walkway from the road and along the balcony. Tricia was escorted along the platform to rapturous applause, and when she was in place, the groomsmen moved from their positions against the pylons at the edge of the balcony and into position along the balcony edge, mirroring the bridesmaids.

At the end of the ceremony, Tau and Tricia led their wedding party along the balcony and down onto the green to accept the congratulations of their guests.

The day was really hot and humid, but this was barely noticeable when compared to the very genuine warmth and cameraderie of those assembled. It was my great privilege to be involved in their very special day, which was also a very special day for me.
